Dear friends,
It has been my honour and privilege to have welcomed Japanese guests into our home in PEI since 1994.
I have met many many wonderful of all ages and people from Japan and have many fond memories.
My family started to welcome Japanese guests to our home as we wanted people to live a “real”
Canadian experience by seeing how we work, play, talk, cook, and eat in our family. I often teach English
at the kitchen table and while cooking our meals or picking fresh vegetables from the garden.
I had the
same wonderful experience when I lived with a Japanese family in Kansai, Japan for two years.
Victoria Homestay is a great place to “touch nature” – our renovated farmhouse is on 3 acres of land in
the countryside outside of Victoria by the Sea. We can see lots of stars at night and beautiful sunrises
and sunsets.
I look forward to welcoming you to Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province, famous for
beautiful nature, seafood, and Anne of Green Gables.
There is a famous storyteller who says “you can leave PEI – but PEI will never leave you” – there will
always be a little place in your heart where you will keep your experiences and memories of PEI!
I hope to meet you soon.
Helen
